ATLANTA, Georgia - The Jumo Health presents the Virtual 2021 iCAN Summit is underway and on Wednesday, July 14th, Pfizer will join in the fun with a live and informative look at the behind the scenes of creating a vaccine for Covid and the process they undertook during the clinical research trials. This terrific session will also explore youth member thoughts and feedback. You won't want to miss it!
This session joins previous exciting sessions by the Food and Drug Administration, led by Tracy Gray, on an inside look at the Office of Cardiovascular Devices in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) and why it is important to support pediatric healthcare along with the pathway to better engagement and learnings from kids. Topped off by Jumo Health, kids are invited to share insight and explore the barriers to participating in clinical research and how they might be better served through new technology and better pathways of participation. The American Academy of Pediatrics, Section on Advancements in Therapeutics and Technology, Dr. Chris Rizzo echoed this in his discussion on determining what might be on a kid's wish list to help increase awareness of what kids need to be healthy and successful as they move through childhood.
Not to be missed are sessions from UCB, Eli Lilly, Labcorp, in which kids of all ages are invited to share their expertise and knowledge in living with rare, chronic, and complicated medical conditions.
Throughout the week, kids are being treated to participating in fun events through partnership with Sing Me A Story, iCAN Youth Council, Drawn to Help, KIDS CT Chapter and Dr. Sharon Smith, KIDS France, KIDS Albania, KIDS Bari, and KIDS Germany. There is even a photo booth and a special Wheel of Wow, in which one lucky youth member can win a gift card each day.
Registration is still open and all are welcome to join in. Visit www.icanresearch.org to sign up and get a login to join the fun. The sessions are held daily from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon EST, July 12th - July 16th, with a LIVE concert series on the last day.
