BAY AREA, California - At the International Children's Advisory Network, Inc. (iCAN), we know that the best ideas come from the youngest minds. In this case, iCAN didn't have to look far for a solution to helping youth to understand chronic medical conditions. Earlier in the year, Diego Vasquez approached iCAN with two amazing ideas. First, at the age of 12, he wanted to found the KIDS Bay Area iCAN chapter and on top of that, he wanted to lead youth members by forming the innovative Minecraft Medical Condition Missions game.
Vasquez, a young programmer and entrepreneur set about to create his game using the help and expertise of iCAN youth members living with specific medical conditions. To ensure accuracy of each of the conditions, Vasquez met with youth members from iCAN KIDS Kansas City and iCAN KIDS Virtual to listen and understand what kids go through.
The program is now BETA mode and interested youth can complete the online form to sign up for play time through the support of Vasquez and his KIDS Bay Area Chapter. To register for Minecraft Medical Condition Missions visit https://www.icanresearch.org//ican-minecraft.
