iCAN Chapter Inspiration: KIDS Bari Kicks Off New Meetings

BARI, Italy - Since the start of the 2020 Global Pandemic, it most likely has been a long time for the ability of hosting in-person meetings. Many of the International Children's Advisory Network, Inc. (iCAN) chapters made the move to virtual zoom-style meetings to ensure the best health for youth members, families and community partners.

With the advancement of vaccine therapies and the continued efforts to promote health safety through mask-wearing and handwashing, some face-to-face meetings are beginning to surface. In fact, KIDS Bari recently had their first in-person meeting on October 22nd. They met live after 1 and a half years!

What's new at KIDS Bari? The youth members revised the training program for a series of workshops. This training was rolled out to 15 European pediatric patients with rare chronic diseases that were interested in general health, biomedical research, health care and children's rights.

This unique training program is part of the European Joint Program for Rare Diseases (#EJPRD) project and is organized by #TEDDY European Network of Excellence for Pediatric Research in collaboration with #EURORDIS and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation (#FSJD).
