ATLANTA, Georgia - Have you ever wondered how good ideas are created? Do you have a desire to improve the world around you? Are you wondering how things work and what you can do to bring a dream to reality? If so, you are invited to excercise those creative thoughts in a lively discussion through the International Children's Advisory Network, Inc. (iCAN) to be held on May 1st, 2021 at 10: 00 a.m. (eastern time) to learn all about the fascinating opportunities throughout our session on Pediatric Innovation. Joining our host, Dr. Anthony Chang, are two special guest speakers - Dr. Shareif Taraman, specializing in Neurology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and an amazing 15 year-old youth presenter, Sebastian Flores, the creator of OctoGifts, a unique paper card company located in Alpharetta, Georgia.

He is the Chief Medical Officer at Cognoa, a Silicon Valley based startup developing artificial intelligence-based digital diagnostics and personalized therapeutics that provide accurate, earlier diagnoses and more effective treatments to improve outcomes and lower behavioral healthcare costs. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Michigan having majored in Biochemistry. Dr. Taraman is active in the community as a board member of the AAP Orange County Chapter, Irvine Unified School District Medical Advisory Board, volunteering for Girl Scouts of Orange County and Capistrano Unified School District.
From Sebastian - An OctoGift is a keepsake that is fun to make, fun to give, and fun to keep. It is much more than a card. It is an experience. We give you and your child an opportunity to create something special together that makes everyone smile. We take pride in the quality of both the product and the experience. Our website says our cards are “designed by a kid for kids of all ages,” but you don’t need to be young to enjoy them. Last month we sent an OctoGift to a lady for her 96th birthday, and she loved it. Most cards end up being recycled or thrown away, but people keep ours and display them. They make great conversation pieces.
To be part of this exciting iCAN event, please RSVP here. All are welcome to join in the fun but pre-registration is required and registration closes the evening prior.
