ATLANTA, GA - Sharing support for science, engineering, technology, arts, and math, the International Children's Advisory Network, Inc. (iCAN) has created a new partnership with Women in Technology (WIT) to further support education and engagement of children within STEAM discovery. WIT, a nonprofit in Atlanta, Georgia founded in 1992 which encourages and empowers girls and women from the classroom to the boardroom is a perfect alignment for programming such as iCAN's "Ask the Experts" monthly series in which kids can ask questions to field experts on topics such as innovation, discovery, research, science and more. Additionally, WIT members are invited to participate in the annual "Jumo Health presents the iCAN 2021 Summit" to be held from July 12th - July 16th, 2021, virtually to support health and safety of children and their families. "The Jumo Health presents the iCAN 2021 Summit" will focus on "Innovation" and will feature a variety of STEAM topics throughout the week-long event. Free registration is available at https://www.icanresearch.org//summit.
WIT today has over 18,000 members in Georgia, 45,000 members worldwide, 200 volunteers and the WIT pathway journey begins with girls and women in middle, high school and college participating in WIT Girls and WIT Campus education and mentoring programs. WIT continues to support the community through WIT YoPros (young professionals) to WIT Careers and WIT Entrepreneurs Program. We have grown our impact to serve disadvantaged single mothers (earning less than $30,000 annually) through our WIT Single Mothers Education Program with Supportive Services.
Complimenting WIT, iCAN holds 30 chapters worldwide and offers programming for youth members ages 8-18 through chapters and leadership within the iCAN Youth Council, as well as, 18+ within the iCAN Young Adult Professionals Program in which college and young adults can seek opportunities for engagement in speaking, internships and volunteerism within the iCAN community.
