ATLANTA, GA - Many of our iCAN youth members have asked how do you protect yourself, along with your family and friends during the pandemic? We know that the best and most important way is through practicing social distancing measures and staying safe at home. However, sometimes it is a necessity to go out, and when you do, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC ) recommends frequently washing your hands and have outlined a few basic steps to better ensure that you and your loved ones stay healthy.
Four Easy Steps to Practicing Helpful Hand Hygiene:
1.) Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
2.) If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
3.) Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
4.) Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
