Children's Health Announces Kid-Focused HackaThon

Updated: Jan 25, 2022

DALLAS, Texas - Children's Health (located in Dallas, Texas) is hosting its annual “Innov8 4 Kids Challenge", calling all middle school, high school, college, and professional developers to bring their best innovation. Help us innovate to improve healthcare for kids! Challenges include: - Gamifying Patient Education - Video and Content Creation - Culinary Cook-Off - Robotics for Healthcare. Details are available for each of the categories at https://innov8-4-kids.hackerearth.com/#overview.

For 2022, the Children's Health contest will have two phases:

Phase 1: 2/1-3/14: Participants will submit their ideas/interpretations of how to best provide engaging short-videos to promote patient education in a variety of areas such as chronic illness, pre/post-surgery, discharge routines etc. Judges will pick the top ideas and participants will move to the next phase.

Phase 2: 3/14-4/10: Participants will create their videos during this phase and present them to a judge panel. Based on criteria, participants will be considered for a variety of prize categories (best high school submission, best middle school submission, best overall etc.) The hackathon will be held virtually, which is why we plan on hosting a few workshops throughout the duration to provide opportunities for participants to get guidance and learn some new skills and simply have fun!

All participants MUST register to participate during phase 1 at https://innov8-4-kids.hackerearth.com/#overview
