Welcome to iCAN ScotCRN!
Established in 2006, ScotCRN (Scottish Children’s Research Network) is funded by the Chief Scientist Office (CSO) in the Scottish Government and is tasked with supporting clinical research to improve the safety and efficacy of children’s medicines and healthcare. They do this by providing the infrastructure in the form of Clinical Research Facilities at each children’s hospital staffed by experienced pediatric research nurses and providing support in the set up, research governance, and conduct of trials.
Today, the network is known as the NHS NRS Children's Research Network, and continues to faciliate and support a broad range of projects including commercially and publicly funded clinical trials in pediatrics. The work is supported directly by the European Young Persons Advisory Groups Network (eYPAGnet) and the Coorderinating Group of the Eurpoean Network of Pediatric Research Networks at the European Medicines Agency (EnprEMA)
"What makes our iCAN ScotCRN Chapter Great"
During 2018, ScotCRN hosted the 4th annual iCAN Research & Advocacy Summit at the University of Edinburgh. The week-long event offered a clinical trial challenge, plenary sessions, and workshops, designed to provide youth members with the ability to create their very own clinical trial.
KIDS Scotland is delighted to be a part of iCAN Research.
