Join iCAN Research President, Leanne West and Dr. Goel as they share AI Technologies
Team emPrize, a group of Georgia Tech AI researchers, is developing a suite of virtual tutors for online education that mimic many of the roles of human teachers. According to Dr. Ashok Goel, Professor of Computer Science in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology, these tutors include more than 100 nanotutors for a Georgia Tech online class on artificial intelligence, as well as a virtual tutor for automatically answering questions on the discussion forum for the class. Preliminary results indicate that student self-efficacy in the class is high.

Exploring "The Beat of The Heart" through music therapy for patients and families
The Beat of the Heart is a feature length documentary film by Jeremy Frindel exploring the revolutionary work of music therapist Brian Schreck. Based at the Norton Cancer Institute in Louisville, Brian has been recording the heartbeats of cancer patients to incorporate into a unique musical composition written with the patients and/or their families. Just as each individual’s heartbeat is unique, each musical composition becomes a celebration of the individual beauty and spirit of each of the patients involved.
