Welcome to iCAN KIDS DRC!

 

KIDS DRC is located in the Congo of Africa and is the first chapter from that region to join iCAN. We are so excited to have their youth member expertise!

Led by Toussaint Balumuene Lukoki, this chapter is already working to help improve pediatric care.  Lukoki explains, "For my work in pediatics: I volunteer as Ambassador for ICOSEP (International Coalition of Organizations Supporting Endocrine Patients) in DR Congo. ICOSEP is the international division of the MAGIC Foundation. We promote dignity, well being, equity of life for endocrine patients, and provide expert information. We have a true commitment to advocate for policies that expand healthcare to benefit patients, ultimately representing the patients voice."

KIDS DRC is affiliated with the Hospital Pediatric of Kalembe-Lembe, which is a pediatric hospital located in the city of Kinshasa providing support services in response to pediatric patient needs.

Our focus is to improve pediatric medicine, to raise the awareness about the importance of children’s involvement in the clinical trials, and to define priorities for future research.
